Title : Human Health Risk Assessment of Toxic Heavy Metals in Mussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis) from Cherrat Estuary in Morocco
Abstract :

The aim of this study was to evaluate cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and mercury (Hg) contamination in wild mussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis) at Cherrat estuary, Morocco, and to assess the season and site effects on metal bioaccumulation. In total, 16 samples/site were collected at two sites in the estuary between April 2019 and March 2020. At each site, samples collected in the dry season (April 2019 to September 2019) were analyzed in the same batch as well as those collected during the rainy season (October 2019 to March 2020). Cd and Pb concentrations were measured by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry and Hg concentrations with cold vapor atomic absorption spectroscopy. Overall, the mean concentrations of Pb, Cd, and Hg in mussels were 0.3 ± 0.03 mg. kg−1, 0.09 ± 0.02 mg. kg−1, and 0.05 ± 0.01 mg. kg−1, respectively. The mean Pb concentration in mussels significantly varied in function of the season: 0.4 mg. kg-1 in the rainy season and 0.25 mg. kg-1in the dry season (p <0.001). This significant season effect on Pb concentration could be explained by different biological and environmental inter-related factors. According to the maximum limits for heavy metals in mussels set by the European Commission and Moroccan regulations, the investigated samples from Cherrat estuary were safe for human consumption. However, their frequent consumption may contribute to the bioaccumulation of these toxic heavy metals in consumers.

Title : Qualitative Study: The Implementation of Stunting Prevention Program Policy in Enrekang Regency
Abstract :

Stunting (short stature in toddlers) is one of the most crucial nutritional problems, particularly in poor and developing countries. Stunting is also a form of growth and development failure that causes linear growth disorders in toddlers due to the accumulation of long-term nutritional inadequacies from pregnancy to 24 months of age. This research was conducted in January 2023 - February 2023. Methods research is a quasi-qualitative exploring the effectiveness of stunting policies through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study showed that the communication of the policy implementation of the stunting prevention program in Enrekang Regency has been running well, in terms of the quantity of human resources available at the regency level. The implementation of the stunting prevention program policy has been running quite well and in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2021 on Accelerating Stunting Reduction. The organizational structure has been formed with a clear division of labor, but there was not a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that specifically regulates the implementation of stunting convergence actions. The transmission of information from policy makers to policy implementers has been conveyed clearly and consistently but still needs to be maximized, it is considered to be fulfilled, but in some regional apparatus organizations it is still limited, namely in the health sector (nutritionists), related OPDs to village governments in implementing the stunting prevention program in Enrekang Regency is considered quite good.

Title : The Effect of the Structural Officials’ Supervisory Function on the Employees’ Performance in The Regional General Hospitals in South Sulawesi Province
Abstract :

The low performance in some of Regional General Hospital of South Sulawesi Province is indicated by the values of BOR, LOS, TOI, BTO, NDR, and GDR which are not in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Health. The most important factor in the success or failure in an organization is the quality of the leaders. If the leaders do not have the ability to lead, then complex tasks cannot be carried out properly. This study aims to analyze the effect of the structural officials’ supervisory function on the employees’ performance in some of Regional General Hospital of South Sulawesi Province. The research method used in this study was a cross-sectional study design. The study was started in January - February 2023 at some hospitals with low performance, namely Labuan Baji Hospital and Sayang Rakyat Hospital. The amples used was 91 of the hospitals’ management staff, taken using total sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test and Multiple Logistic Regression test. Based on the results of the study, the Chi-Square test showed that the direct supervision variable was significantly related to the employees’ performance (p<0.05) and so was the indirect monitoring variables (p<0.05). The results of the Multiple Logistic Regression test showed that the direct supervision was the most influential factor on the employees’ performance. The structural officials in the hospitals must improve their managerial functions, especially in terms of their supervisory function, so that it will have a good impact on the hospitals’ performance.

Title : Effect of Beverage Solutions on Color Change of PEEK CAD-CAM, 3D Printing Denture Base and Heat Cure Acrylic Resin Denture Base Materials
Abstract :

The aim of this study was to evaluated the effect of distilled water, tea, coffee and cola on color change of poly ether ketone CAD-CAM, 3D printing and heat cure acrylic resin denture base at 6 days. Materials used are PEEK CAD-CAM, 3D printing denture and heat cure acrylic resin. Samples design was disk shape with uniform dimension 10 mm (diameter) × 2 mm (thickness). Total number of samples are n= (75) samples, control samples not immersed in beverage media n= 15, experimental samples immersed in beverage media (distilled water, tea, coffee and cola) n=60 for evaluating the color change at 6days, using colorimeter tester. Then all collecting data were statically analyzed by spss version 25, by means of descriptive statistics, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and duncan multiple range tests at p ≤ 0.05. The results showed significantly increasing in color change at p ≤ 0.05. All beverage media negatively affected all of experimental materials. The most color change was in tea then in coffee then in cola while the least color changes was in distilled water.

Title : Influence of Saline Treated Fibers on Impact Strength of Heat Cured Acrylic Resin
Abstract :

The objective of the current research is to evaluate and compare the impact resistance of heat cured resin poly-methyl-methacrylate (PMMA) after reinforcement with silane treated glass and polypropylene fibers. The current research carried out in vitro on 30 PMMA denture base resin specimens. Specimens were separated into three groups; control group (without fibers) and experimental groups (with fibers addition) which subdivided further into two groups based on fibers type (2.5% glass fiber) and (2.5% polypropylene fibers) with 10 samples for each group and examined for impact strength by using Charpy impact machine. The findings of this research revealed an extremely significant raising in the impact strength of heat cured acrylic resin after blending with glass and polypropylene fiber that had surface treatment. The use of silane enables more fiber inclusion, improved PMMA resin contact, and increased flexural strength. Additionally, silanized fibers have the ability to seal cracks.
